From Clueless to Confident: How I Ended Up Here

I didn't grow up dreaming of longarm quilting. I didn't even know it was a thing!

I was working in a fabric store when customers started asking if I knew any longarm quilters. I had no idea what they were talking about. So I did what I always do - I went and found out.

Turns out, quilting had always been my favourite part of making a quilt, even back when I was doing it on my domestic machine. The idea of a machine built specifically for that one thing? I was immediately sold.

I bought a second-hand Handi Quilter, set it up at home, and that was that. What started as a bit of a side hustle quietly grew into a full-time business - built almost entirely on word of mouth and the trust of some really lovely clients.

Ten years on, I run The Quilt Room out of Northcote in Melbourne. I offer longarm quilting services for clients who want their quilts finished by me and online courses for quilters and longarm business owners who want to feel more confident in what they do.
