THE LONGARM LOUNGE
There's a machine in your sewing room that probably cost more than a small car.
You dreamt about it for years. You measured the space. You made the leap. So why does it gather more dust than quilt tops?
If you're honest, there's a design you always avoid (feathers, is it?). A quilt top pile that keeps growing while you wait to feel ready. And nobody within cooee who actually teaches this stuff.
Here's the secret ten years at the machine taught me: the feeling ready part comes after you start, not before. You don't need more courage. You need somewhere to practise, someone to ask and a new skill landing every month.
That's the Lounge.
IMAGINE THIS INSTEAD
Six months from now, feathers are just another design you know how to quilt and know when to use.
The quilt top pile is going down instead of up. When a quilt needs something more interesting than stitch in the ditch, you have three ideas before it's even loaded.
The biggest change isn't in the stitching though. It's walking up to the frame without that knot in your stomach. That feeling that you're going to ruin the quilt. The stand and stare problem.
None of this is talent. It's practice with a plan - one new design a month and someone to ask if it all goes pear-shaped.
That's exactly what the Lounge is for.
WHAT'S INSIDE?
A new free motion or design video every month - Swirls, feathers, fillers, backgrounds and everything in between - taught slowly, stitched along with you.
Ask Lyndelle - Send in your quilting questions and I'll answer a selection on camera every month. Tension troubles, design dilemmas, thread dramas... nothing is too small or too silly.
What Should I Quilt On This? - My favourite corner of the Lounge. Send me a photo of your quilt top and I'll choose a few to talk through on camera - exactly what I'd quilt on it and why.
Monthly Challenge - A short, focused skill each month to keep you practising and accountable. Small wins, steady momentum.
The class library. My growing collection of free motion quilting classes, ready whenever you are.
WHAT IT'S NOT
No Facebook group.
No posting your work publicly if you don't want to.
No deadlines, no falling behind, no keeping up with anyone. Everything waits for you, and nobody sees your practice pieces but you.
Quiet quilters are very welcome here.
HOW IT WORKS
1 - Start your free 7 day trial on Patreon (takes about two minutes - use your web browser rather than the Patreon app, it behaves much better)
2 - Start with one video - the pinned Start Here post points the way
3 - Stitch along monthly as new lessons land, send in your questions and quilt tops whenever you like

I'm Lyndelle, and I run The Quilt Room - a longarm quilting studio in Australia where I quilt client quilts every week and teach longarm quilters across the world.
Ten years ago my feathers looked like deflated balloons (I have photographic evidence and no shame). Every design I teach in the Lounge, I once couldn't do.
That's kind of the point - if it's learnable for me, it's learnable for you and I'll show you how.
The Quilt Room is a one woman biz, which means when you send in a question, it's me that answers it.
PRICING
Your first 7 days are free. After that it's $9 USD a month - less than a decent spool of thread.
That's founding member pricing. The price will rise later in 2026 for new members, but join now and $9 is your rate for as long as your membership stays active.
Cancel anytime, no hard feelings. If you cancel during your free week you won't pay a cent.
Especially you. The Lounge exists to build that confidence - if you can load a quilt and you're willing to practise, you're ready.
The Lounge is made for longarm quilters. If you're on a domestic, my YouTube channel is a better home for you for now. You can find it here
As much or as little as you like. The core rhythm is one new video a month - you could watch with a cuppa and a note pad, then practise when you can. When you want more, it's there: send a question in to Ask Lyndelle, pop a photo of your quilt top into What Should I Quilt On This? or join in if a challenge is running. None of it is compulsory and nothing expires. You'll get out what you put in and the putting in is entirely on your terms.
If you can watch a YouTube video, you can use the Lounge. One tip: Patreon works best in your web browser, not the app.
That's what your free week is for. Have a proper look around, watch a class or two and if it's not your cup of tea, cancel before the 7 days are up and you won't pay a cent. Patreon even emails you a reminder 3 days before your trial ends, so there's no chance of forgetting. After that, cancelling is a couple of clicks anytime.
No hard feelings, truly.
The Lounge lives on Patreon, which sets its prices in USD - that part I can't change. The good news is Patreon shows you the price in your own currency at checkout, so Aussie members see and pay in Aussie dollars. Same for other currencies. No surprises, no maths.
NOW WHAT?
Six months from now you'll either be quilting feathers or still waiting to feel ready.
The first 7 days are free, the founding rate is locked in and that quilt top pile isn't shrinking on its own.
